A slightly longer and more serious spoof than my previous one about Winter, but still a spoof. Again, watch out for spoilers for Wings of Fire books 1-8. The Thrilling Story of Queen Scarlet (A story written by Queen Scarlet of the SkyWings) ~ đ„ ~ Once upon a time, a lovely, beautiful princess named Scarlet was born into the royal family of the SkyWings. She was so stunning, all the other dragons simply loved her, and desperately wanted her to be queen one day. Being ever so humble, Scarlet had to oblige to satisfy the desires of her future subjects, so she reluctantly, dutifully, murdered her mother. Although, Scarlet had to admit, it was also a tiny bit thrilling. She then set up the family arena so that there would be daily gladiatorial fights to entertain her subjects. She wouldn't want her kingdom dropping dead out of boredom, now would she? The arena was her personal favorite way to thrill herself. Fights were always wonderful to watch. Seasons passed, and Queen Scarlet always remained on her throne. No pesky little daughters could catch her off guard. It was slightly disappointing, though, how easy it was to defeat her daughters every time they challenged her. They weren't the least bit thrillingto fight. However, when the time did come when one of Queen Scarletâs useless daughters started to become a threat, she had plenty of tricks to play that would keep her on the throne. Say⊠she happened to have a certain animus dragon at her claw-tips that she could play around with. So, she decided, instead of having to get her talons dirty, sheâd just turn her daughter into a different daughter, one who would be completely harmless and boring, certainly not a threat, and certainly not thrilling. After that epidemic, Queen Scarlet was free to do whatever she wished. She could even play with her newest toy: a firescales dragonet sheâd snatched from its disloyal mother and raised as her own. Peril, as she called it, would make the perfect champion for her arena. She could easily imagine the thrilling fights that were guaranteed to take place. But, after six years of peaceful, uneventful ruling, her plans were thwarted by a group of naughty, useless, terrible âDragonets of Destinyâ that sprung up out of nowhere. Certainly, no dragon believed the pack of lies that Morrowseer sold as a prophecy! But the witless, dark worm seemed to have brought up the dragonets he needed to make it look true, and he was using them to manipulate Pyrrhia to his will! Queen Scarlet would have none of it. She made it her top priority to find those dragonets, capture them, make them meet a bloody, thrillingend in her arena, and rub it in Morrowseerâs snout. âNo more war-ending, prophecy dragonets for you!â she would say. To her great enthrallment, she did manage to capture the dragonets from under their mountain and confine them to her glorious arena. One of them, the MudWing perhaps, seemed to have some strange black venom he used to defeat an IceWing, which was thrilling to watch. She hoped heâd use it again. He also, she knew, had fireproof scales, which would go nicely with her Peril. She couldnât wait to see the ending. But, when she did have Peril fight the MudWing, her life took a turn for the worst. Her lovely artwork, aRainWing, which she had on display beside her, decided to betray her, ruin her beautiful face, and get away with it! She couldnât believe that rainbow worm! How dare she? Afterwards, Queen Scarlet had no choice but to flee her wonderful kingdom. She didnât worry, though, because she knew she would return shortly to deal out her needed revenge and take back her throne. But she soon found out that, instead of patiently waiting for her to come back like any self-respecting loyal subject, her kingdom had quickly plucked themselves a new queen, and exactly the daughter sheâd attempted to hide. She couldnât believe it. Why would her subjects choose Ruby, the daughter sheâd created to be a worthless, boring mouse, to be their new queen? Sheâd show them real leadership. Sheâd show them all. So, the first chance she got, she gathered up her champion and her animus to help her take back the throne that was rightfully hers. They swooped into her palace, kidnapped the prince, captured Ruby, and took her throne back. It was almost too easy. And thrilling. But, at the last moment, when Queen Scarlet almost had her kingdomâs fate sealed, her champion decided to turn on her, release Ruby, and remove the spell that made her useless and weak. Queen Scarlet couldnât believe her misfortune! First, exiled by a RainWing, then betrayed by her subjects, then blackmailed by her champion? Not to mention the time Burn randomly kidnapped her for absolutely no reason! Her whole life was RUINED, SPOILED because of the STUPID DRAGONETS OF DESTINY, and then suddenly, Peril, who sheâd raised since birth by the way, SUDDENLY DECIDED IT WOULD BE A THRILLING IDEA TO HAVE HER STUPID WORTHLESS PRETENDER OF A DAUGHTER RULE INSTEAD OF HER! Queen Scarlet was done being betrayed. She was done putting up with her horrible life. She would take back her throne once and for all. So, Queen Scarlet was prepared to fight her daughter to the death. But, thanks to Peril, her daughter wasnât a terrible fighter anymore. So, Queen Scarlet found herself losing faster than the rain was falling. And then, quicker than lightning, Princess Tourmaline gained the upper talon, and Queen Scarlet met a swift, not-so-thrilling end. The end.
